Initiative Computerized X-Ray at Med Center New Digital Heart
Defibrillators on Telluride Ambulances The Telluride
Foundation and the Telluride Fire Protection District’s Emergency Medical
Services Division (EMS Division) have been awarded a $22, 500 matching
grant from Caring for Colorado for the purchase of five Lifepak 12 digital
heart defibrillators/monitors. In December the Telluride Foundation awarded
the EMS Division a $20, 000 Community Grant contingent upon obtaining
matching funds from an outside source. The Caring for Colorado grant
covers the second half of the cost of the five Lifepak 12s and allows for
the recent purchase of the state-of-the-art machines. “The
first few minutes that EMS personnel are with a cardiac patient are
critical for actuate diagnosis and successful treatment, and this
life-saving equipment is crucial to the Telluride community, which because
of its rural and remote nature lacks immediate cardiac care, ” said Jill
